Hace exactamente dos semanas, presenté uno de mis trabajos de investigación en el Young Scholar’s Workshop en el marco de los Vienna Music Business Research Days 2015. El tema de mi presentación fue Licencias Obligatorias en la Industria Fonográfica (el powerpoint lo pueden ver en mi entrada de blog anterior). La experiencia fue magnífica, no sólo por el evento en sí, sino por la gente que conocí y el sentido de pertenencia a una comunidad de investigación de música.
Un momento muy especial fue al final de la conferencia, cuando el Dr. Peter Tschmuck y el Dr. Carsten Winter anunciaron el ganador al mejor trabajo presentado en el Young Scholar’s Workshop, y fui yo! Sinceramente no me lo esperaba, y me siento muy honrado por ello. Este tipo de actividad y reconocimiento me inspiran a seguir creciendo en mi carrera como académico, y saber que no estoy solo, confiado de la música te lleva a mundos mágicos más allá de un escenario. Agradezco mucho a todos quienes me apoyaron, a quienes siguen haciéndolo, a los que no están de acuerdo conmigo y así me desafían a seguir, y a ti, , quien estás leyendo estas palabras. Two weeks ago exactly, I presented one of my research papers at the Young Scholar’s Workshop as part of the Vienna Music Business Research Days 2015. My paper was about Compulsory Licensing in the Music Recording Industry. The experience was magnificent, not only because of the event itself, but because of the people I met and the sense of belonging to a music research community.
A very special moment was when at the end of the conference, Dr. Peter Tschmuck and Dr. Carsten Winter announced the winner of the Young Scholar’s Workshop and it was me! This recognition was beyond my expectations and I am very honoured by it. This sort of activity and achievement inspires me to continue growing in my academic career, knowing that I’m not alone, knowing that music takes you to magical worlds beyond stages. I am very thankful to everybody who supported me, who keeps supporting me, the ones that disagree with me for challenging me to carry on, and to you, who reads this.
